Shri. Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja

The late Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja (1901-1971), believed that philanthropy is both an obligation and an honourable reward of business.

He said, "My dharma (duty) is to work, so that I can give," which epitomises the ethos of the Foundation. The areas of sharp focus are Education and Healthcare which were held by the Founder to be the fundamental rights of every human being.

The core verticals of the Foundations' activities are Education, Healthcare, Promotion of Arts and Culture, Sports and Social Welfare.

Of these, the areas of sharp focus are Education and Healthcare which were held by the Founder to be the fundamental rights of every human being. Today the focus of philanthropic activities are being broadened to include Rural Development and promotion of our ancient heritage and culture. The Hinduja Foundation is the 'umbrella' trust for the various philanthropic organisations of the Hinduja parivar.

The Hinduja Foundation, India works in tandem with the Hinduja Foundations in the Europe and the USA. The objectives of the Foundation's include supporting socially responsible institutions; working jointly with other institutions of repute and by supporting deserving NGOs working for similar objectives. The Hinduja Group companies have developed a symbiotic relationship with the Foundation and their financial and other backing is a source of support in fulfilling the dreams of the founder.
